Problem solving, but this is ALL:
it made my day
We talk about problem solving but this comes with the position, puff; that’s what you signed up for. This should be one thought in the mind of people accepting position, people accepting responsibilities involving solving some problems. This piece of writing is dedicated to speaking around problem solving. It might not be a cover it all conversation but it is not nothing.
Most of the time when we hear problem solving, we hear a lot of loads on our shoulder that needs to be handled; and that’s right, right? But today, I would like to think through the problem-solving that most of us are afraid of. I would say that we are right to fear this because it requires the mind to push, most of the time think beyond the limit of our imagination/thinking. When you actually do that, something magic happens. You get a solution from pushing hard in your thinking and you get some experience doing that as well. When you solve one problem, the next problem will be much less-harder to solve; I am not going to naively say it is going to be easy, but you will start somewhere. And your mind will recognise the pattern of course.
My eyes lighted up when I heard this amazing story involving problem-solving, thinking out of the box, power of pressure to fix something; remember this mostly when it puts the life of a person on the line. I was listening this good podcast (that I am not going to say the name). A woman was a head nurse and her team was drowning work. They had a lot of patients that need help, she said she had 45 patients waiting in the lobby for only 2 nurses. She was freaking out a lot but tried to hide it, of course as she should because she is the leader. She couldn’t have any more nurses to take care of the patients and she run out of options. In a matter of seconds, she thought of something that could have been so hard to think of; trust me for most of us it sounds crazy that it would have been so hard to think about it.
She CALLED 911 asking for help and it WORKED!
She explained the situation and they listened and they helped. What I learned from this story is that most of the time we keep thinking, we keep looking for solutions within the scare of our field… but try shifting on the other side. Yes, you may object, which other side because they are many sides. Pick one, who cares which side or where you get the solution from as long as it efficiently and effectively solves the problem.
Bother to think and see what happens. Thinking about the situation that needs to be fixed is something of value when it comes to solving a problem. And when you think about a solution to a problem, challenge yourself to look and think on the other side of thoughts. You might not find something useful but I am pretty sure you will find something.
Thanks for reading buddy, why don’t you challenge this discussion with your objection, or idea?
