PODCASTER, THINKER AND BUSINESS ENTHUSIAST
Host of the Change Me Podcast; a podcast that first started in a refugee center in the heart of Europe. But of course, the story started years before living a harsh life as a young boy, living in a refugee camp in the Sub Saharan Africa where even the countries are struggling to make ends meet for their people; You can imagine how worse it is for refugees. The podcast started to share my story, to share stories of change, to give a voice to stories no one has ever told the world.
Obviously, got out of the life safe but I can tell you with my soul that it wasn’t for my strength, but there was something powerful guiding me throughout all the life struggles I’ve been into. God, I am not complaining it happened, I am certainly not saying I enjoyed it but, for what it is worth, it changed my life forever.
GREW UP IN THE EAST AFRICA IN BURUNDI
Growing up, I didn’t have so many role models but I had a lot of people that I wasn’t happy to become. It motivated me to grow the hell up. But of course, I adored my Uncle who was smart and obviouly in good shape. So, I wanted to be attractive to women, so, I was motivated to get into shape as well 🙂 I grow up in a low income household and I didn’t like it; It wasn’t an easy job for my parents to raise us all 8. I wasn’t mature enough to understand why they are not financially stable as others I perceived to be financially stable who now are almost in the position we were growing up. I grow up hating this kind of a life and I wanted to change it for me and for my family when I grow up (mature enough)..
FOUNDER, BUSINESS MINDED, MOVED PLACES
Back in 2020, Jean de Dieu co founded an initiative with 10 of his fellow colleagues, students and graduates from Southern New Hampshire University Kepler Kigali site in Rwanda. ‘It was the best time of my life, I felt alive and I am proud of this time of my life. Not because I was able to put a team together to do this but to see that I am willing to sacrifice my resources for others and that my friends were also onboard to do so. Since I joined the Kepler Kigali program to do my undergrad in Management, I am business oriented in my all thinking and it helped a lot.
I’ve done business with people and I am much more likely to evaluate every situation life puts me in to see if any opportunity is to be found within. It has pretty much changed my life forever that I now understand the power of communication and connecting with people. Since 2015, I have been moving places and it’s wonderful. It is worth gazing into the abyss you don’t understand to see if you can find your light. It’s an interesting position that I am in; recently in Rwanda, now in Europe and who knows tomorrow! I am glad that I am gathering experiences as I move forward in life. It is an experience worth sharing and I would say, as far as I am concerned, it might be good for you to grow with less than have everything laid out for you. But I am certainly not saying growing up with everything is worthless.
